Letter from Edwin Polydore Seward to William Henry Seward, January 25, 1851
Florida Jan 25th 1851
My Dear Brother,
I have been promising myself the pleasure
of visit to see you but have concluded to give it
up as we have not had sleighing for the last two
weeks and have not got my supply of wood
I wish to know whether we shall have to move in the
old Mansion House this spring or not and if so whe-
ther or not we could not have the kitchen rebuilt
before the first of April next those carpenters are
at leisure and I could move wood and many other
things without incommoding Miss. Parson or any
other person which would be a great convenience to us,
will you be good enough to write soon and let me know
your views on the subject. We are all well except
Mrs. Jayne She has been very unwell for three weeks
nothing new with us at present Give our best respects
to Frances and the family and believe me to be your
Affte. Brother Edwin P Seward
