Biographical Information

Burr W. Griswold was a lawyer and business partner of Clarence A. Seward. With Clarence A. Seward and Samuel Blatchford (18200309-18930707), he formed the law firm Blatchford, Seward & Griswold in New York City, which came to represent many prominent inventors and their patents. Burr's first wife was Mary Milford Blatchford, sister of Samuel Blatchford. Burr's second wife was Martha Elizabeth Paine Griswold (18340000-18840118). From 1849-1854, he lived in Wisconsin.
