- She was the wife of politician, John Parker Hale, who served in the House from 1843 to 1845 and in the Senate from 1847 to 1853 and 1855 to 1865. They had two daughters together, Elizabeth Hale (who married Edward Kinsley and William Jacques) and Lucy Hale (who was engaged to John Wilkes Booth but married William E. Chandler).
