Dr. Humphreys practiced in Auburn, NY. He is mentioned in France Miller Seward's letter to William Henry Seward on March 17, 1831. He was married to a Anna Loomis Landon Humphreys (1785 - 1866) and had a son, George Humphreys (1814 - 1885). He was Frances's physician. In William Henry Seward's letter to his father Samuel Sweezey Seward on February 2, 1825, when she falls ill, WHS says "in him we have entire confidence – He is very attentive to her and thinks that she is doing well." He also appears in Frances Miller Seward's letter to William Henry Seward on September, 25 1831 as the doctor that visits to vaccinate Fred.
