- Biographical Information
- US Congressman. He served in the War of 1812 as an Assistant Adjutant General on the staff of Major General Ebenezer Stevens, who commanded all of the New York State Militia. After a career as a highly successful banker and merchant, he was elected as a Whig to represent New Jersey's 5th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1849 to 1851.
