- Abijah Miller received a diploma as attorney-at-law, Aug. 13, 1806, signed by the Hon. James Kent, chief-justice of the State of New York. He was an able lawyer and adviser; was a cousin of Judge Elijah Miller, whose daughter Frances married Hon William H. Seward, governor of New York and secretary of state under President Lincoln- The fathers of Abijah and Elijah Miller were brothers, and their mothers were sisters (Titus).
