She was born in Colchester, CT and raised in Williamstown, MA. She was a part of high society and was considered to be quite smart and beautiful. She graduated from Williamstown Academy at the age of 15 where she met Elijah Miller. She moved with him to Central New York where they had two children, Frances and Lazette. In 1808 the family moved to Auburn, however the cold was too much for HFM’s disposition and she became ill. The Judge permitted Lazette, Frances, and her to move back to Williamstown to live with HFM’s parents. She lived there for two years before dying of tuberculosis in 1811 at age 26.
