Caroline Louise Porter is the daughter of Abigail Porter and John Edward Porter. An image of her gravestone on Find a Grave shows her death to have been in 1849, but there is a source on Ancestry Library that claims her death to have been in 1847. Since the Find a Grave source shows an actual image of her grave, and the source on Ancestry is just family information from a secondary source book, her death has been listed as the date of the Find a Grave website. I was unable to locate other sources to verify her death date.
Frances describes the disease that afflicted Caroline Louise Porter in her letter sent on April 9, 1849, to her sister Lazette Worden. This letter also helps us concretely state Caroline's death year as 1849.
