Louisa Serena Weightman was the daughter of Richard Hanson Weightman and Susan Bradford (nee Coxe) Weightman. She was the granddaughter of Susan R and Richard Smith Coxe. She was born in Missouri. Louisa stayed with her mother, siblings, and grandparents in Washington in the 1850s, where her grandfather was a lawyer. She became friends with Fanny Seward, and Louisa is mentioned in many letters in the 1850s time period because of their friendship. Louisa is listed as single in the 1930 Washington census, and it does not appear that she ever married.
